Chapter 3: The Enchanted Garden

As I pushed open the door, a gust of fresh air greeted me, and the scent of flowers filled my nostrils. I found myself standing in an enchanted garden, with tall trees and colorful blooms surrounding me on all sides. The sun shone brightly overhead, casting a warm glow on everything around me.

In the center of the garden stood a small pond, its surface glistening in the sunlight. A small, wooden boat rested at the water's edge, beckoning me to climb aboard. Without hesitation, I stepped into the boat and pushed off from the shore.

As I paddled deeper into the pond, the water grew darker, and the trees grew taller and more twisted. The air grew colder, and a sense of unease crept over me. Suddenly, the boat jolted, and I heard a deep growling sound. Looking over the edge, I saw a pair of glowing eyes staring back at me from beneath the water's surface.

Terrified, I tried to paddle back to shore, but the boat seemed stuck in place. The growling grew louder and more menacing, and the eyes grew closer. Just as I thought all was lost, I remembered the riddle from the book. Swiftly, I reached into my pocket and pulled out the butterfly statue.

Holding it aloft, I spoke the words inscribed on its base: "With this token, I command thee to reveal thy true form!" Suddenly, the water churned, and a massive serpent rose from the depths, its jaws open wide. But as it caught sight of the butterfly, it transformed into a magnificent dragon, its eyes gleaming with intelligence.

"Who dares disturb my slumber?" the dragon roared, its voice echoing through the garden.

"I seek the Key of Eternity," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.

The dragon regarded me for a moment before nodding its massive head. "Very well. Answer me this riddle, and I shall allow you to pass."

It spoke, and I listened intently:

"I am always hungry; I must always be fed. The finger I touch, will soon turn red. What am I?"

I thought for a moment, then said, "Fire."

The dragon nodded approvingly, and the boat suddenly lurched forward, carrying me deeper into the garden. As I went, I heard the dragon's voice echoing behind me.

"Remember, seeker of treasures, the path to knowledge is never easy. But with wit and courage, you can overcome any challenge."
